CHARTER INDEX DIRECTORY - HOW DOES IT WORK

In this electronic age it is tempting to regard printed sources of data as outmoded and inefficient, but it would be a bad mistake to discount Charter Index in this way. The monthly Charter Index printed directory is the industry’s longest serving (published since 1982) and most respected quick reference publication - and continues to fulfil it’s specific function.

The directory is subscribed for and annually renewed by almost every Charter Agency and Central Agent in the world. This wholly subscription circulation based publication therefore proves it’s value and earns it’s living by providing an additional and alternative source of convenient, portable, easily understandable information for busy professionals both in and out of the office. It provides quick answers to short questions.

All Charter Index yachts are listed in the directory as well as the Online system - though for obvious reasons the depth of data on each yacht is more comprehensive in the Online system. The directory is usually used by Charter Agents for a ‘first pass’ review of possible yachts, before more in depth research takes place online and in consultation with Central Agents in preparation for making specific proposals to potential retail clients.

The Charter Index contains the following data

  • Full individual yacht data sets comprising area of operation, name, length, type, configuration, year of launch, designer and manufacturer, crew numbers, Captain and chef names, cabin/guest accommodations, bed types and toys and amenities.

  • Comprehensive rates and availability (bookings) information and Central Agent identity and contact details.

  • Electronic brochure listings and urls

  • Central Agency (booking contact) listings including address, telephone, fax and email information

  • Domestic and international Charter Agency/Broker listings including address, telephone, fax and email information.

  • thumbnail images for yachts that have an online brochure and / or advertising

  • advertising for yachts that wish to obtain more exposure in the Index, be it a full page or just a 1" strip

  • colour maps for most operating areas, including the important charter ports and areas.

  • colour pages and covers for the quarterly editions.

  • Review of charter show dates and monthly and 2 year calendars
