Alex Miller had an extensive career in investment banking and private equity before following his passion for sailing. EVA represents a dream come true and Alex has sailed her from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean and now to the Caribbean.
EVA is an extension of Alex’s family-run hospitality business in Tuscany, Italy. Guests stay in either the Arena di Lucca bed and breakfast in Lucca or at Tenuta Valle Buia in Talamone, near the sea. They also have the opportunity to sail on EVA as a way to discover the Tuscan archipelago, its unique pristine nature, and environment. Alex has taken guests on a variety of outings in the Mediterranean and has sailed the Caribbean extensively for years.
As your skipper, Alex will be happy to impart his knowledge of sailing and ensure a safe and fun experience. Alex received his Yachtmaster Ocean certificate from the UK’s Royal Yachting Association. He speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
Livia Mag
1st Mate
Livia Mag managed the Arena di Lucca bed & breakfast inn in Lucca, Italy, before crewing on EVA. Livia discovered the effects of wind on sails while flying a paraglider, an activity that she pursues. On EVA, Livia is both an avid and competent crew assistant and a great hospitality organizer. Livia holds a certificate of competence and has sailed thousands of miles.
