Not often will you find a charter yacht captain with the credentials of Columbo Breeze Captain Steve King. Steve has been in the professional yachting industry for 41 years, and a captain for 40 of those years. He spent almost 12 years chartering, mostly in the Caribbean. He’s been a professional yacht captain and engineer on a variety of high-end sail and motor yachts.

Born in England, he spent his early years in New York. At the tender age of 10 he was sent to live on the island of Barbados with his grandmother and receive schooling there. His love of the sea and the Caribbean was born during these years. Steve holds a USCG 500 ton captain’s license and also has a great depth of expertise with engines and electrical systems, with ASE-certification on Cummins and GM diesel engines. His knowledge has also led to overseeing the refit of several yachts, always adding new touches that elevate to a higher level of accommodation.

Steve has discriminating taste in yacht and has captained a 76’ Hinckley, 76’ Hylas, and 140’ Jongert. He has sailed all over the Caribbean and is highly knowledgeable particularly of the leeward and windward islands. He's a delightful fellow who can entertain you with many adventure sea stories. He's also multi-lingual and speaks 4 languages fluently.
